Former WWE CEO Linda McMahon Loses Senate Race to Richard Blumenthal

With 36% of precincts having reported results as of press time, the Connecticut race for US Senator has fallen in favor of Democratic candidate Richard Blumenthal.

Blumenthal was contested by former WWE Chief Executive Officer Linda McMahon, who reportedly spent in the realm of $50 million on her campaign.

Recent polls, nonetheless, revealed that the race had essentially moved out of reach for the republican, and early returns on election day confirmed that reality. CNN currently lists Blumenthal ahead 53% to 45%, and a McMahon comeback in the results has been officially ruled out.
