“True Blood,” “The Good Wife” Score Drama Series Emmy Nominations

The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards nominations featured a lot of the expected names being revealed as in the mix, but there were also a great deal of newcomers and surprises.

While most believe this season’s outstanding drama race comes down to “Breaking Bad” (the most critically-acclaimed drama series this year), “Mad Men” (the reigning champion) and “Lost” (which wrapped its classic six-season run in 2010), the nominations for best drama were not simply limited to the recurring nominees. In addition to the aforementioned candidates and “Dexter” (which also had a great season and certainly has a shot), voters also included HBO’s breakout “True Blood” and CBS’ freshman series “The Good Wife.”
