“Kiss It Better” Confirmed As Rihanna’s Next Pop Single, But “Needed Me” Also Available

Its mainstream accessibility has been noted since “ANTI” entered the market earlier this year.

It should therefore come as no surprise that Def Jam has confirmed “Kiss It Better” as Rihanna’s next single at pop radio.

The song, which was serviced to radio Wednesday morning, formally goes for adds April 5. It is the follow-up to “Work (featuring Drake),” which is now in the Top 10.

As Rihanna noted Tuesday night, “Kiss It Better” is not the only new single from “ANTI.” Fellow track “Needed Me,” which has been the album’s strongest commercial performer outside of single “Work,” is also live at radio.

It may not be the official pop radio single (at least not yet), but pop stations with more urban-leaning vibes — as well as those that simply want to spin more Rihanna — indeed have “Needed Me” at their disposal.

“Needed Me” and “Kiss It Better” were also both made available to urban and rhythmic programmers. Clarity regarding formal promotional plans at the two formats is not yet available.
