Ratings: “Girls” Adds Viewers, “Togetherness” Holds Steady

Affected more notably by competition from the Golden Globes than the AFC Championship, HBO’s “Girls” held flat in the adults 18-49 demographic and added viewers this week.

Sunday’s episode, which was the second of the current fourth season, matched the season premiere’s 0.4 rating but drew an improved viewership count of 797,000. The season opener attracted 680,000.

The additional “Girls” viewership did not help lead-out “Togetherness” reach a wider audience in week two, but it potentially did prevent the show from enduring the typical week two decline. The second episode of HBO’s new comedy drew a 0.2 adults 18-49 rating with 426,000 viewers; last week’s scored a 0.2 with 427,000.

“Looking” was once again the lineup’s weak link, but it did enjoy week-over-week growth in viewership. The episode drew a 0.1 rating with 195,000 viewers. The rating was even with the season premiere, but the latter was up by 12,000.
