TNA Champion Kurt Angle made his first public comments on Saturday’s arrest, attributing fault to ex-girlfriend Rhaka Khan.
Note: While Angle could not publicly identify Rhaka Khan by name, she is indeed the woman in question.
In a claim that contradicts Rhaka Khan’s statements to police, Angle tells “Buckhead and Bubba in the Morning” (via the Pittsburgh Channel) that he actually left the house first–on police order in response to the protection from abuse claim–Saturday morning.
He contends that the alleged victim followed him to the Robinson Towne Center shopping area, creating minimal distance between the two parties and the impression that he was violating the protection from abuse order.
“We got surveillance tape that shows she followed me out, and then she had me restrict the PFA by following me, so basically in a nutshell, that’s pretty much what happened,” said Angle.
Rhaka Khan had maintained that she was already at Starbucks when she saw Angle circling the parking lot, essentially “stalking” her.
Angle did not address allegations that an incident between he and the TNA Knockout led to the filing of the protection from abuse order, only noting, “I told the girl it wasn’t going to work out. She asked me for my car to go to the store, went to police, got a PFA. The police came to my door, kicked me out, put her in, and it’s been like that ever since, and I spent nine hours in the county jail.”
Confident in vindication, Angle added, “I’m just going to let the judicial system take its course and I’ll be vindicated. I spent nine hours in the county jail. I mean, it was degrading.”
