Popular stand-up comedian Louis CK is getting another shot at the world of television–Variety reported this week that he is attached to two big projects.
The first, a more guaranteed position, is a multi-episode spot on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation.” The star of cancelled HBO comedy “Lucky Louie” will play a potential love interest for Amy Poehler’s Leslie Knope character.
Louis CK has also shot a pilot–“Louie”–for FX. He stars in the half-hour coemdy about his life as a comedian and divorced father of two. Through sketches and stand-up clips, he acts opposite actors playing his family members and friends.
In the pilot, he appears in two sketches–one features things going terribly awry as he chaperones a field trip for his kids, while the other chronicles a terrible date.
“It’s a unified stream of conciousness,” said the comedian. “It all comes from me being a 41-year-old divorced comic trying to raise children, meet people and have sex.”
A conclusive decision on the pilot will be made within ten days. Sources say that things appear optimistic–FX has been trying to expand its comedy presence to support veteran “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”
