Elton John & Britney Spears’ “Hold Me Closer” Heads For #1 At Hot Adult Contemporary Radio

The collaboration should top this week’s Hot AC chart.

With limited time remaining in the November 13-19 tracking period, Elton John & Britney Spears’ “Hold Me Closer” appears poised to claim #1 on the Mediabase hot adult contemporary radio chart.

The collaboration received 3,773 spins during the first five days of the tracking period, besting the same-time-last-week mark by 14%. The count slots “Hold Me Closer” at #1 on Mediabase’s building/real-time chart.

“Hold Me Closer” does not face an obvious, imminent threat (Taylor Swift’s building #3 “Anti-Hero” likely has too much ground to make up). As such, it should be able to retain its crown through the close of tracking.
