Tuesday’s Grammy nominations announcement featured some surprises, but one aspect definitely played out as expected: Olivia Rodrigo is a nominee in each of the “Big Four” categories.
The singer-songwriter is up for Best New Artist, while her “SOUR” is in contention for Album of the Year. Breakthrough single “drivers license” is meanwhile in contention for Record and Song of the Year.
Though it is not as the top-line artist, FINNEAS is also in the mix for all four awards. He is personally up for Best New Artist, and he is also in the running as a writer and/or producer for Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever” (the album is up for Album of the Year, while the title track is contending for Record and Song of the Year).
This year’s most-recognized act is Jon Batiste with 11 total nominations. Doja Cat, H.E.R. and Justin Bieber each follow with 8 looks, while Rodrigo and Eilish have 7.
