Every song from Taylor Swift’s new album “Lover” has received airplay at pop radio.
None of the just-released tracks, however, has received as much as attention as “The Man.”
According to Mediabase, the buzzy single has received at least 4 spins from dozens of pop stations this week. Fifteen have played it least 5 times, with six of those stations providing at least 10 spins.
Hot 101.5 Tampa, the top supporter, has offered a whopping 23 spins since the launch of the album (and song) last Friday, August 23.
Swift and her team have yet to formally confirm a new radio single, and there are indications that the title track is the frontrunner for that honor. A force on digital platforms, “Lover” has also been receiving airplay since its arrival on August 16.
“The Man,” however, seems to be making a strong case as a potential single — if not next, then at least for some point in the campaign. In addition to the aforementioned radio interest, “The Man” has been the album’s second-best performer on streaming platforms (after “Lover”) during release week.
