Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” is on track to earn a Top 40 position on this week’s Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.
The buzzy new song received 889 spins during the first five days of the November 4-10 tracking period. The count positions “thank u, next” at #40 on Mediabase’s building pop radio chart.
While there is always a chance that “thank u, next” slows down as the week comes to a close, it still seems like a safe bet to reach the Top 40.
Adding to the probability: Bryce Vine’s building #18 “Drew Barrymore” is due to be removed from this week’s chart as a recurrent. Its removal will lift all lower-ranked songs up by one position, meaning “thank u, next” would only have to be #41 on the building chart to claim a Top 40 position on the final chart.
Assuming it makes the Top 40, “thank u, next” will be one of three Ariana Grande songs on the chart. She also has the building #1 song in “God is a woman” and the building #8 song in “breathin.”
