Update: Billboard just made the news official – Greta Van Fleet’s “Anthem Of The Peaceful Army” debuts at #1 on Billboard Top Album Sales, but Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper’s “A Star Is Born” soundtrack keeps #1 on the Billboard 200.
“Anthem Of The Peaceful Army” sold what Billboard reports as 81K pure US copies during the October 19-25 tracking period. That ranks as the week’s best pure sales total.
With units from track sales and streams included, it generated 87K in first-week consumption units. That figure positions the Greta Van Fleet album at #3 on the Billboard 200 consumption chart.
“A Star Is Born” spends a third week at #1 with 109K units (61K from sales), while Future & Juice WRLD’s “WRLD ON Drugs” debuts at #2 with 98K units (8K from sales).

This week’s US album race has apparently produced a split-chart scenario.
Greta Van Fleet’s “Anthem Of The Peaceful Army” reportedly ranks as the leader in pure sales, but Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper’s “A Star Is Born” rules for total consumption.
According to Hits Daily Double and BuzzAngle, “Anthem Of The Peaceful Army” sold about 75K pure US copies during its first week of release.
With TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1250 for paid services + track streams/3750 for free services) included, it generated about 82K in total consumption units.
Although the pure sales total ranks as the week’s best, the consumption figure trails the ~106K generated by “A Star Is Born” and ~98K earned by Future & Juice WRLD’s “WRLD On Drugs.”
Due Sunday, Billboard’s more authoritative data may differ slightly from that reported by Hits. The discrepancy should not, however, impact the pure sales chart — “Anthem Of The Peaceful Army” will almost certainly rank as the week’s best-selling album. “A Star Is Born” should, meanwhile, retain the crown on the Billboard 200.
