BTS’ “Love Yourself: Tear” Wins US Album Sales Race, Earns #1 On Billboard 200

This week’s Hits Daily Double and Billboard album charts are not precise mirror images.

They do, however, feature the same #1.

BTS’ “Love Yourself: Tear” tops the Hits Daily Double sales and consumption charts. It also claims #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales and Billboard 200 listings.

Citing data from BuzzAngle, Hits says “Love Yourself: Tear” sold 99K pure US copies during the May 18-24 tracking period. Billboard has that number at 100K.

With TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) included, Hits says “Love Yourself: Tear” generated 134K in overall consumption. Billboard reports a consumption tally of 135K.

“Love Yourself: Tear” is the first #1 album for BTS, which previously peaked at #6 on Top Album Sales and #7 on the Billboard 200 (with “Love Yourself: Her” in both cases).

It is also the first K-pop album to claim #1 on the US charts.

— Post Malone’s “Beerbongs & Bentleys” grabs #2 on this week’s Hits consumption and Billboard 200 charts. The former publication says it generated 125K units, while the latter credits it with 123K. The overwhelming majority of those units came from SEA.
