For the first time this season, an episode of “The Assassination Of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” enjoyed live+same-day ratings gains.
According to L+SD data posted by Showbuzz, Wednesday’s “Versace” drew a 0.34 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 1.10 million overall viewers.
The numbers top the 0.24 rating and 0.91 million viewer mark posted by the previous episode on February 14. They also best the 0.30 rating and 0.98 million mark garnered by the February 7 installment (which, unlike the 2/14 episode, was not affected by the Olympics or Valentine’s Day).
Granted, this week’s numbers still markedly trail those of “ACS” predecessor “The People v. OJ Simpson.” No episode from that season went below a 1.11 in the demo or 2.76 million in overall viewership.
Still, an increase is an increase.
“Versace,” moreover, continues to receive big lifts from DVR and multi-platform views. FX publicly maintains that ratings account for that delayed viewership are substantially more valuable than live+same-day data in the current landscape.
