The “Unsolved” premiere posted strong numbers.

USA Network is surely pleased with the opening night ratings for “Unsolved: The Murders Of Tupac & The Notorious BIG.”

According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Wednesday’s “Unsolved” drew a 0.67 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 1.60 million overall viewers.

Both numbers are solid for a cable drama in 2018. They also represent an improvement on what fellow USA Network drama “Shooter” typically drew in the post-“SmackDown” timeslot. No “Shooter” episode has fared as well in adults 18-49, and only two have drawn more viewers.

They, moreover, absolutely blow away what “Damnation” averaged in the slot this past fall.

FX’s true crime series “The Assassination Of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” drew better initial ratings (0.72, 2.22 million) but has since crashed (the most recent airing posted a 0.24 and 0.91 million). That atypically massive decline gives “Unsolved” a solid chance of closing the season as the more popular show.
