Zedd, Maren Morris & Grey’s “The Middle” debuted Tuesday — and received immediate support at pop radio.
Numerous pop stations played the song once or twice Tuesday, with several offering a handful of spins.
According to Mediabase, the top support came from ENERGY 97.3. The San Diego station played “The Middle” 7 times.
Radio Disney offered 5 spins, while San Francisco’s 99.7 NOW, Detroit’s 98.7 AMP, Phoenix’s 104.7 KISS and Madison’s Z-104 each played the song 4 times.
A total of 15 pop stations officially added “The Middle” to their playlists this week. It should receive a great deal more adds in conjunction with next week’s official impact.
Hi Brian Cantor,
During the early years of the chart, only airplay data from top 40 radio stations were compiled to generate the chart. Effective from issue dated July 17, 1993, adult contemporary stations were added to the panel, followed by modern rock few months later. However, beginning in December 1998, the chart profile expanded to include airplay data from radio stations of other formats such as the pop R&B, rock and country. To preserve the notion of the former chart, the Top 40 Tracks chart (now defunct) was introduced at the same time.
