Some pop stations are beginning to play “rockstar.”

Post Malone’s “rockstar (featuring 21 Savage)” is having an explosive first week from a sales and streaming standpoint. It is #1 on the US iTunes sales chart and an outright dominant #1 on the US Spotify chart.

It is also beginning to receive airplay at radio.

While the greatest support has come at Post Malone’s core rhythmic format (where it officially impacts next week), “rockstar” is also attracting early interest at pop.

According to Mediabase, New York’s 92.3AMP is the leading supporter. It played the song 11 times between September 13-19.

San Francisco’s WiLD 94.9 and Boston’s 103.3 AMP each offered five spins, while San Francisco’s 99.7 NOW and San Diego’s Channel 93.3 offered three spins each.
