In the most shocking news story you’ll read this week, Grammy Awards producer Ken Ehrlich notes that he fully expects Adele and Beyonce to perform at this year’s ceremony.
“Over all of the years I’ve been doing the show, there have been [only] three or four acts who’ve actually said no [to performing],” says Ehrlich in a Billboard Roundtable. “I can tell you that Adele and Beyoncé are not two of them. We have every anticipation that both of them will be with us in February.”
Adele and Beyonce two of the biggest superstars in the world, and an awards show producer would never need any extra justification for booking them.
The Grammy Awards team has that justification this year, however. The two artists are among the year’s most nominated acts; they are also each contending for Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, and Song Of The Year — the only three “Big Four” categories for which they are eligible.
Featuring host James Corden, the 59th Annual Grammy Awards take place on February 12, 2017. CBS will again broadcast the ceremony.
