Update: John Mayer’s Facebook Live stream does not begin until 4PM ET, but his new single “Love On The Weekend” is already available on digital platforms.
The single marks the start of the next John Mayer album era — one he, in an October Tweet, declared would mark his return to pop music.
The album is called “The Search For Everything.” Additional details on the release were not available at press time.

In just over twenty four hours, the world will hear John Mayer’s new single.
Mayer confirms that “Love On The Weekend,” said single, will premiere at 4PM ET via Facebook Live.
Neither Mayer nor his label has confirmed specific details regarding the song’s availability at radio or on digital/streaming platforms.
Mayer has been periodically teasing his new music throughout the year. In a September 30 Tweet, he revealed that the single had been mixed.
On October 19, he noted, “Mixes and meetings and photo shoots and finishing touches. Pop Music I’m comin’ back…”
“Love On The Weekend” will apparently springboard that return to pop music.
