Dua Lipa’s “Blow Your Mind (Mwah)” is poised to reach the Top 40 at US pop radio this week.
The single received 744 spins during the first five days of the October 16-22 tracking period. The count bests the same-time-last-week mark by a healthy 50.6%.
“Blow Your Mind” is presently #41 on Mediabase’s building chart but on track to claim #40 on the final listing. Charlie Puth’s building #25 “We Don’t Talk Anymore (featuring Selena Gomez)” is set to be removed as a recurrent, which would lift all songs below #25 by one place when the chart goes to print.
The only conceivable threat from below is Rihanna’s “Love On The Brain” (#43 on building, 623 spins). “Love On The Brain” is rising at a faster rate (+125.7%), but it will still have a difficult time closing the gap. As such, it is very likely that “Blow Your Mind” will retain its position through the close of tracking.
Assuming it indeed secures a Top 40 placement, “Blow Your Mind” will become the first Dua Lipa song to appear on Mediabase’s US pop radio airplay chart.
Other songs headed for the Top 40 include John Legend’s “Love Me Now” (currently #36 on the building chart) and DNCE’s “Body Moves” (currently #39 on the building chart).
