It is official: ZAYN’s “Mind Of Mine” is America’s #1 album.
The former One Direction member’s solo debut claims #1 on Billboard Top Album Sales and the Billboard 200.
It leads the former with what Billboard reports as 112K pure US album sales. Its #1 position on the Billboard 200, meanwhile, is attributable to 157K first-week consumption units (album sales + track sales/10 + track streams/1500).
With his four One Direction chart-toppers included, “Mind Of Mine” represents ZAYN’s fifth career #1 in the US.
While shy of the forecasts that emerged at the beginning of the week (150-175K in pure sales, 200K in total consumption), the tallies still give “Mind Of Mine” a comfortable lead over the competition.
K. Michelle’s “More Issues Than Vogue,” which debuts at #2 on both charts, sold 54K in pure sales and generated 59K in consumption.
— As far as the Billboard 200 goes, Rihanna’s “ANTI” (#3, =), Justin Bieber’s “Purpose” (#4, +1), and Adele’s “25” (#5, -1) form the balance of the Top 5.
