Ruth B’s “Lost Boy” Headed For Pop Radio’s Top 40

Ruth B [Vevo]

Ruth B’s “Lost Boy,” which is already in the Top 40 at hot adult contemporary radio, is poised to enter the same territory on Mediabase’s official pop chart.

The Peter Pan-referencing song received 733 spins during the first five days of the February 28-March 5 tracking week. Up 16.2% from last week’s count, the tally positions “Lost Boy” at #39 on Mediabase’s building chart.

While Meghan Trainor’s new single “No” will presumably leap ahead of “Lost Boy” over the next two days, “Lost Boy” does not face an obvious second threat.

The song, moreover, may leapfrog Jason Derulo’s declining “Get Ugly” (currently #38 on building) before the week is over. Its final position will also increase by one place insofar as Daya’s building #14 “Hide Away” is slated to be removed as a recurrent.

As such, it is difficult to imagine a scenario in which “Lost Boy” does not officially reach the Top 40 this week.
