Spun 3,269 times during the December 27-January 2 tracking week (+57), “Stressed Out” earns a ninth straight week atop the Mediabase alternative airplay chart.
The ongoing alt dominance coincides with the song’s burgeoning success at the pop and hot adult contemporary formats.
While this week’s alternative chart features the same #1 song as last week, it welcomes a new song to the runner-up position. Up one place, Cage The Elephant’s “Mess Around” grabs #2. It received 2,474 weekly spins (+123).
Cold War Kids’ “First,” which spent several weeks in the runner-up slot (and several weeks at #1), slips one place to #3 this week. It garnered 2,428 tracking week spins (-39).
Silversun Pickups’ “Nightlight” holds at #4 with 2,164 weekly plays (+23), while Coldplay’s “Adventure of a Lifetime” rises two places to #5. The song, which is making its first Top 5 appearance, garnered 2,139 weekly plays (+149).
