Ratings: NBC’s “Adele: Live In New York City” Delivers Huge Numbers

Bolstered by lead-in support from “The Voice” — and the fact that it featured the hottest name in music — Monday’s “Adele: Live In New York City” predictably drew huge ratings.

Per Nielsen fast national broadcast, the special posted a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating and reached 11.246 million total viewers.

Among broadcast programs, the special easily won its timeslot in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

While it likely would have drawn well in any timeslot, the broadcast was obviously helped immensely by its positioning after “The Voice.” Monday’s “The Voice” performance finale averaged a 3.2 adults 18-49 rating and 13.907 million viewers from 8-10PM. The 9-10PM lead-in hour drew a 3.3 with 14.254 million.

With awards shows excluded, “Adele: Live In New York City” was the highest-rated broadcast network music special since the June 1, 2005 “Eagles Farewell Tour” (3.1). It was the most-watched since the April 8, 2003 “Cher: Farewell Tour” (16.556 million).
