Update: As expected, Ariana Grande’s “Focus” has leapfrogged Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” and now holds the #2 position on the US iTunes single sales chart.
Only Adele’s “Hello” is positioned higher.

Following its release late Thursday night, Ariana Grande’s “Focus” soared into the upper reaches of the US iTunes single sales chart.
By 1:30AM ET — roughly two hours after the song’s initial iTunes arrival — “Focus” was up to #3 on the all-genre chart. Only Adele’s “Hello” and Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” held higher positions on the listing.
Given the rate at which it is gaining steam, “Focus” has a strong chance of overtaking the Bieber track within the next few hours.
— While not new to the iTunes, Alessia Cara’s breakthrough single “Here” is also making waves on the chart.
Powered by a growing presence at radio and a performance on the syndicated “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” the Gold-certified tune is up to #11 on the all-genre US listing.
“Here” appears on Cara’s recently released “Four Pink Walls” EP and on her forthcoming LP “Know-It-All.”
