Adele’s “Hello” Erupts as Hot AC Radio’s Most-Added Song, Gwen Stefani Follows

In the most certain add board outcome of the year, Adele’s “Hello” easily ranks as this week’s most-added song at hot adult contemporary radio.

“Hello” scored adds from a whopping 84 Mediabase-monitored stations in conjunction with this week’s official impact. That triples the add count of the week’s second-most-added song.

It also provides another illustration of the song’s immense support from Hot AC programmers. The first came in conjunction with this week’s airplay chart — despite not emerging until the sixth day of the 7-day tracking week, “Hello” opens at #25.

Picked up by 28 stations, Gwen Stefani’s “Used To Love You” is the aforementioned second-most-added song. While it pales in comparison to that achieved by “Hello,” the impact week count still reflects a solid level of support.

Fall Out Boy’s “Irresistible (featuring Demi Lovato)” (15 adds) follows as third-most-added, while Charlie Puth’s “One Call Away” and Ellie Goulding’s “On My Mind” tie for fourth on the strength of 10 pickups each.

Other popular Hot AC options: Demi Lovato’s “Confident” (8 adds, 6th, tie), Rudimental’s “Lay It All On Me (featuring Ed Sheeran)” (8 adds, 6th, tie), Andy Grammer’s “Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah)” (7 adds, 8th), James Bay’s “Let It Go” (5 adds, 9th, tie), Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” (5 adds, 9th, tie), One Direction’s “Drag Me Down” (5 adds, 9th, tie).
