Cold War Kids’ “First” Stays #1 at Alternative, Pop Evil’s “Footsteps” Stills Tops Rock

The portraits atop the Mediabase alternative and active rock airplay charts appear as they did last week.

Cold War Kids’ “First” is still the #1 song at alternative, while Pop Evil’s “Footsteps” remains the leader at rock.

Spun 2,793 times during the October 4-10 tracking week (-29), “First” earns its third consecutive week (and fourth overall) atop the alternative listing.

X Ambassadors’ “Renegades” (#2, = | 2,536, -61), Elle King’s “Ex’s and Oh’s (#3, = | 2,445, -93), AWOLNATION’s “I Am” (#4, = | 2,272, +125) and The Struts’ “Could Have Been Me” (#5, = | 2,132, +41) complete the Top 5. The songs are all positioned as they were last week.

Thanks to a weekly spin total of 2,054 (-110), “Footsteps” earns its fourth week at #1 at active rock.

Spun 1,734 times during the tracking week (+111), Red Sun Rising’s “The Otherside” rises one place to #2. Breaking Benjamin’s “Angels Fall,” also up one place, claims #3 on the strength of its 1,598 weekly spins (+113).

Shinedown’s “Cut the Cord” (#4, -2 | 1,551, -251) and Chris Cornell’s “Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart” (#5, = | 1,490, +210) complete the Top 5.
