Backstage Look: FOX’s “Scream Queens” Premieres With 2-Hour Episode

FOX’s 2015-16 fall television season commences with Monday’s premieres of “Gotham” and “Minority Report.”

It continues with Tuesday’s two-hour “Scream Queens” launch.

Created by Ryan Murphy, the horror comedy represents the predictable hybrid between his previous series “American Horror Story” and “Glee.” Loaded with absurdist (and sometimes dark) comedy, exaggerated character types, and sassy one-liners, “Scream Queens” does not come across as remotely foreign — or unexpected — to those familiar with Murphy’s work.

Set to air from 8-10PM ET, the two-hour premiere includes the episodes “Pilot” and “Hell Week.” Per FOX’s synopsis:

The girls of Kappa House are dying for new pledges. Kappa House, the most sought-after sorority for pledges, is ruled with an iron fist (in a pink glove) by Chanel Oberlin (Emma Roberts, “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” “Scream 4”). But when anti-Kappa DEAN CATHY MUNSCH (Jamie Lee Curtis, “Halloween,” “A Fish Called Wanda,” “True Lies”) decrees that sorority pledging must be open to all students, and not just the school’s silver-spooned elite, all hell is about to break loose, as a devil-clad killer begins wreaking havoc across the campus in the all-new “Pilot/Hell Week” special two-hour series premiere episode of SCREAM QUEENS airing Tuesday, Sept. 22 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

In advance of the premiere, FOX offered behind-the-scenes photos from the episodes’ production. The images contain minor spoilers.
