Allison Janney Wins Emmy for Supporting Actress in Comedy; Tony Hale Wins for Actor

The first half-hour of the 2015 Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony is in the books, and two of the supporting acting trophies have been distributed.

“Mom” star Allison Janney takes home her second straight Emmy (and seventh overall) for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy. Tony Hale, meanwhile, wins a second for his work as an Outstanding Supporting Actor on “Veep.”

Janney beat out Mayim Bialik (The Big Bang Theory), Julie Bowen (Modern Family), Anna Chlumsky (Veep), Gaby Hoffman (Transparent), Jane Krakowski (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Niecy Nash (Getting On), and Kate McKinnon (SNL).

Hale topped Andre Braugher (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Titus Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Ty Burell (Modern Family), Adam Driver (Girls), and Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele).
