Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” is only in its third week on the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart, and it is already a Top 5 hit.
The song, which did not receive formal radio promotion until May 18, rises to #5 on this week’s edition of the Mediabase pop chart. Up five places, it received ~12,410 spins during the May 31-June 6 tracking week.
“Bad Blood,” which seems poised to soon reach #1, entered the Top 5 more quickly than lead “1989” single “Shake it Off.” That track, which was considered a monstrous performer, required four weeks to officially reach pop radio’s Top 5.
The “Bad Blood” era officially commenced with the music video premiere on Sunday, May 17. That premiere also brought forth a Kendrick Lamar remix of the song, which serves as the face of the campaign at mainstream radio.
In conjunction with its ascent into pop radio’s Top 5, “Bad Blood” rises to #13 at hot adult contemporary (+3; ~3,494 weekly spins) and #17 at rhythmic (+6; ~1,832 weekly spins).
