Twice the beneficiary of strategic $0.69 discounts on iTunes, Tove Lo’s “Talking Body” now boasts a cumulative US sales total in excess of 700,000.
On the strength of the most recent sale — and of rising radio momentum — “Talking Body” moved approximately 78,000 paid downloads during the May 4-10 tracking week. Enough for #12 on the weekly Digital Songs chart, that total brought the song’s release-to-date total to what Nielsen Music reports as roughly 718,000.
Expected to sell about 80,000 more units during the May 11-17 tracking week, “Talking Body” will be knocking on the door of 800,000 by the end of the day Sunday.
While it has not yet received a formal certification from the RIAA, “Talking Body” would be eligible for a gold certification on the basis of a unit count in excess of 500,000.
Tove Lo currently holds a 3X platinum certification for her previous single “Habits (Stay High).” Alesso’s “Heroes,” on which she is featured, is platinum in the US.
“Talking Body” is currently #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and nearing the Top 10 of the Mediabase pop airplay chart.
