While Zac Brown Band will not formally debut its new single “Homegrown” until Monday night’s performance at the ESPN college football championship tailgate, the track is already available for interested fans.
iHeartRadio, which will provide the song with promotional airplay all day Monday, premiered the song on its official website early Monday morning.
It is certainly not a risky or disruptive song, but insofar as it is radio-friendly, endearing and true to the band’s signature sound and vibe, “Homegrown” should have no trouble finding an immediate–and immediately supportive–audience.
“I’ve got some good friends that live down the street/Got a good lookin’ woman with her arms ’round me/In this small town, where it feels like home/I got everything I need, and nothing that I don’t/Homegrown. Homegrown,” sings Brown in the catchy chorus.
