Hot 100: Kanye West’s “Only One” Opens at #35

Fueled by a first-week download count of 125,000, Kanye West’s “Only One” debuts within the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.

The emotional track, which is the first of several collaborations between West and music legend Paul McCartney, starts at #35 on Billboard’s all-encompassing Hot 100.

No stranger to the top 40, West had most recently entered the club courtesy “Bound 2.” Thanks to its buzzworthy video, the track soared as high as #12 on the Billboard listing.

Prior to “Only One,” McCartney’s most recent top 40 hit was 1989’s “My Brave Face.” That song peaked at #25.

“Only One” is by far the top debut on this week’s chart.

The first single from West’s forthcoming studio album, “Only One” reportedly goes for multi-format radio adds next week.
