Next Wednesday, Billboard is expected to report that Nick Jonas’ self-titled release was one of this past week’s top ten albums.
On Sunday, his single “Jealous” will be crowned one of the top ten songs on Mediabase’s pop airplay chart.
Boosted by a powerful combination of strong feedback, ample buzz and the iHeartRadio “On the Verge” campaign, Jonas’ “Jealous” becomes the first such hit of his career.
Per Saturday’s edition of the rolling Mediabase chart, “Jealous” earned 9,268 spins within the November 8-14 window. That was enough to thrust Jonas’ song past Iggy Azalea’s declining “Black Widow” and into the #10 position.
“Jealous” will have no issue retaining that position through the issuance of Mediabase’s official airplay chart Sunday evening.
Jonas’ previous peak position came via “Burnin’ Up.” That song, which was recorded and released with the Jonas Brothers, peaked at #12 on the pop airplay chart.
