With only a few days remaining until the release of her album “1989,” those looking to avoid Taylor Swift should probably steer clear of entertainment websites.
They also should have steered clear of Hollywood Boulevard Thursday.
In the final promotional stretch for her fifth studio album, which hits shelves on October 27, Swift–and thousands of her fans–closed off the iconic street for a “Jimmy Kimmel Live” performance.
Those who viewed Thursday’s edition of the ABC talk show were treated two to numbers from the outdoor concert: radio smash “Shake it Off” and recently released promotional track “Out of the Woods.”
Viewership of the performances will only add to the monstrous momentum behind the tracks–and the album. “Shake” and “Woods” are currently #1 and #6 on iTunes, respectively, and the album will score the year’s best sales total–by a country mile–when it launches next week.
