Country music’s biggest night will feature two of pop radio’s biggest success stories.
Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainor, who have both hit number one at pop radio this year, will perform separate duets with country stars at the November 5 Country Music Association Awards.
Grande, whose “Problem (featuring Iggy Azalea)” emerged as a blockbuster this year, will collaborate with powerhouse country foursome Little Big Town. Trainor, whose “All About That Bass” was arguably pop music’s biggest phenomenon this year, will perform her song alongside Miranda Lambert.
No stranger to country, the Nashville-based Trainor penned songs for Rascal Flatts’ most-recent album. Covered by acts like RaeLynn and given early exposure on “The Bobby Bones Show,” her “Bass” is similarly familiar to the genre’s listeners.
Other performers for the show include Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Kacey Musgraves, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, The Band Perry, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban.
The November 5 ceremony airs on ABC.
