Day one of airplay for Garth Brooks’ comeback single “People Loving People” is in the books, and it was enough to drive the song into the Top 30 on Mediabase’s rolling country airplay chart.
The new Brooks song received 1,585 spins and 13.73 million audience impressions on September 3. That opening day positions the song at #30 for play count and #27 for audience on Mediabase’s rolling chart, which measures the entire seven day period between August 28 and September 3.
Opening day interest in “People Loving People” exceeded that afforded to other high-profile recent releases.
With 993 spins and 9.65 million impressions in its first day, Florida Georgia Line’s “Dirt” ranked at #39 and #32 for the two measures, respectively.
Jason Aldean’s “Burnin’ it Down” rode 1,091 spins and 10.26 million audience impressions to starts at #38 and #31, respectively.
Blake Shelton’s “Neon Light” kicked off with 984 spins (#42) and 8.29 million impressions (#31).
