Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” is now one of pop radio’s five most-played songs.
The recipient of 10,791 spins between August 25 and August 31, “Bass” rises to #5 on Mediabase’s rolling airplay chart. It had reached #6 by the time the service’s official chart went to print Sunday evening.
The singer-songwriter’s breakthrough effort, which appears at #6 on Billboard’s version of the pop airplay chart, commanded 64.26 million audience impressions during the aforementioned August 25-31 tracking period.
Currently pop radio’s greatest seven day airplay gainer, “Bass” is quickly establishing itself on other radio formats. It is currently #11 at Hot Adult Contemporary radio and #24 at rhythmic.
The latest Billboard Hot 100 chart, which also includes data from digital sales and streams, lists “Bass” at #3. Only Taylor Swift’s blockbuster “Shake it Off” and Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda,” which benefited from a record level of video streaming, appear higher on the current Hot 100.
