Move over, Jason Aldean. There is a new song “Burnin’ it Down” on iTunes.
“Bang Bang,” the new release from Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, predictably surged to #1 on iTunes within hours of its official release.
By cruising to #1 on the overall iTunes Single Sales chart, “Bang Bang” gives Ariana Grande her second release in the Top 10 and third release in the Top 15. “Problem (featuring Iggy Azalea),” her first true blockbuster, is currently #9, while the recently released “Break Free (featuring Zedd)” is currently #14.
Nicki Minaj is also represented in the top 100 by #73 seller “Pills N Potions.” “Bang Bang” is Jessie J’s only song on the chart.
Attention will now turn to its performance at Top 40 and Rhythmic radio formats, where Republic says the song has already scored more than 70 combined adds.
— Other newly charting songs on iTunes include Wiz Khalifa’s #5 “Stayin Out All Night,” Chase Rice’s #18 “We Goin’ Out,” Florida Georgia Line’s #21 “If I Die Tomorrow,” Hilary Duff’s #25 “Chasing the Sun,” Train’s #26 “Bulletproof Picasso,” Maroon 5’s #47 “It Was Always You” and Porter Robinson’s #54 “Flicker.” Several of those releases should go higher before they go lower on the iTunes Sales Chart.
