Jason Aldean Erupts at Radio; Cadillac Three, Maddie & Tae Follow

Terms like “predictable” and “inevitable” certainly apply to the weekly add report at country radio.

According to Mediabase, Jason Aldean’s new “Burnin’ it Down” lived up to expectations with a monster impact. The song landed at a whopping 144 country stations to rank as the format’s most-added.

Those adds assure the song, which is already #25 on Mediabase’s country airplay chart, has the foundation needed to make a furious run in the coming weeks.

While it had no chance of rivaling the Aldean song, The Cadillac Three’s “Party Like You” followed with an impressive 30 adds this week. Maddie and Tae’s “Girl in a Country Song,” which officially impacted the country format last week, claimed third-most-added with an additional 26 country pickups this week.

Kristian Bush’s new “Trailer Hitch” followed with 23 adds, which put it in a dead heat with RaeLynn’s “God Made Girls.”

Rascal Flatts’ “Payback” (22 adds), Keith Urban’s “Somewhere in My Car” (17 adds), American Young’s “Wasn’t Gonna Drink Tonight” (15 adds), Luke Bryan’s “Roller Coaster” (13 adds), Brett Eldredge’s “Mean to Me” (12 adds), Sam Hunt’s “Leave the Night On” (12 adds) and Dean Alexander’s “Live a Little” (12 adds) also had good weeks.

Since Mediabase only uses data from monitored reporters when constructing its airplay chart, it is also worth looking at how songs fared specifically with those stations:

1) Jason Aldean – Burnin’ it Down – 113 monitored adds
2) The Cadillac Three – Party Like You – 30 monitored adds
