Iggy Azalea’s “Black Widow” Overtakes “Fancy” on iTunes

“Fancy” might be the reason “you already know” lead artist Iggy Azalea and featured vocalist Charli XCX, but as of Tuesday, July 29, it is neither artist’s top-selling song on iTunes.

Last week, Charli XCX’s breakthrough solo effort “Boom Clap” rocketed past “Fancy” on the iTunes sales chart. Currently #11, it remains ahead of the blockbuster track by a considerable sales margin.

Tuesday, Iggy Azalea’s new single “Black Widow (featuring Rita Ora)” also leapfrogged its predecessor. As of press time, the song was #19 on the iTunes overall single sales chart. “Fancy” was positioned at #21.

Still a dominant streaming and radio performer, “Fancy” will rank considerably higher on this week’s Billboard Hot 100. But that gap is narrowing, and it seems inevitable that “Boom Clap” and “Black Widow” will eventually leapfrog “Fancy” on the all-encompassing chart the way they did on the iTunes chart.
