FOX’s Final “Glee” Season Held Until 2015

Fans itching for the final season of “Glee” will have to wait until 2015.

In its official scheduling announcement Monday, FOX confirmed that “Glee” will be held for a midseason bow in 2015. It did not provide a further update regarding the night on which “Glee” will air its sixth and final season or how many episodes will comprise that last chapter.

While creator Ryan Murphy had been discussing the prospect of doing 24 episodes (a full twenty two, plus two to compensate for the shortened season 5), the confirmed midseason launch has created pessimism about whether “Glee” will, in fact, get to air a full season’s worth of episodes when it returns in 2015.

“Glee” airs its fifth season finale this Tuesday.

Other series being held for midseason include “American Idol,” “The Following,” “Backstrom,” “Bordertown,” “Empire,” “Hieroglyph,” “The Last Man on Earth,” “Wayward Pines” and “Weird Loners.”
