Update: “About a Boy” Ratings Steady Despite “Voice” Drop

Update: While an adjustment in the final Nielsen report brought Tuesday’s “About a Boy” rating down to last week’s level, the performance remains impressive.

Even though “The Voice” was down to a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating with 11.93 million viewers (from last week’s 3.4 with 12.45 million), “Boy” matched last week’s 2.0 in the demo. Its viewership declined slightly from 7.41 million to 7.17 million.

Also adjusted down, “Growing Up Fisher” closed at a 1.6 with 5.96 million viewers.

NBC’s “About a Boy” might have just earned itself a second season.

Saddled with weakened lead-in support from reality juggernaut “The Voice,” Tuesday’s “Boy” nonetheless improved its rating in the adults 18-49 demographic.

Last week’s episode, fueled by a “Voice” that drew a final 3.4 adults 18-49 rating with 12.45 million viewers, settled for a 2.0 with 7.41 million.

Leading out of a “Voice” that only drew a 3.0 with 11.79 million, this week’s “Boy” delivered a 2.1 with 7.49 million.

“Growing Up Fisher,” which led out of “Boy,” posted a 1.7 with 6.10 million to outrank competitive comedies “Trophy Wife” and “The Mindy Project.”
