This past Friday, FOX officially removed several modestly-rated series from the bubble. “New Girl,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “The Mindy Project” and “The Following” were all renewed for next season.
Absent from the Friday announcement was “Raising Hope.” And, per a news release from FOX, any pessimism resulting from that omission was justified.
The network officially announced Monday that “Raising Hope” will come to an end this year. It will not receive a fifth season.
“Getting to know and love the Chance family on Raising Hope has been a sweet, hilarious ride,” said Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment and Joe Earley, Chief Operating Officer, Fox Broadcasting Company. “Thanks to the incredibly talented cast – along with Greg, Mike and the entire crew – for making us laugh for four fantastic seasons.”
Two episodes–“How I Met Your Mullet” and “The Father Daughter Dance”–will create a one-hour series finale event on April 4.
