The CW Hits 4-Year-High with “Originals,” “Supernatural;” Ratings

The CW’s Tuesday combination of “The Originals” and “Supernatural” continues to prove itself a winner.

According to final Nielsen data, this week’s episodes combined to deliver the network’s strongest Tuesday viewership in more than four years.

At 2.386 million viewers for the evening, Tuesday’s average is the highest since September 8, 2009. That night, which featured the season two premiere of “90210” and series premiere of “Melrose Place,” posted an identical viewership average.

In order to find a Tuesday on which The CW did better, one would have to return to November 14, 2008–more than five years ago–when the network drew 2.504 million.

While both shows placed fifth in the adults 18-49 demographic, their respective 1.1 ratings are also strong by network standards.
