The combination of Las Vegas shenanigans and less competition helped WWE reality series “Total Divas” deliver a strong rating for E!
Sunday’s episode improved to a 0.8 rating with 1.53 million viewers.
Given the episode’s content–the Divas and some male coworkers/boyfriends headed to Las Vegas to celebrate TJ Wilson and Nattie Neidhart’s upcoming wedding–and the absence of competition like the MTV Video Music Awards and WWE Summerslam, the gain is not surprising.
But its lack of surprise does not translate into a lack of positivity. This week’s episode again performed above its premiere threshold, and it did so with far less lead-in support from “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”
By any reasonable assessment, “Total Divas” is a big hit for E!
After wrapping its current run in two weeks, “Divas” will go on hiatus before returning with six new episodes in November. Assuming its ratings hold in this territory, a future second season renewal should be certain.
