Breaking a lengthy absence from Twitter, “Glee” star Lea Michele finally commented publicly on the death of her co-star and boyfriend Cory Monteith.
“Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support. Cory will forever be in my heart,” wrote Michele, who included a picture of the two in her Tweet.
As regular “Glee” cast members began gradually breaking silence on the loss of their beloved castmate, Michele did the bulk of her emotionally-intense grieving in private, opting not to openly confront frequent allegations and gossip about her mental state.
Romantically-linked to Monteith both on-screen and off-screen, Michele maintained an immense closeness with the actor and was surely–and deeply–affected by his accidental passing on July 13. In addressing Monteith’s death, many “Glee” cast members and other celebrities were sure to reserve specific condolences for “Glee”‘s leading female.
“Glee” creator Ryan Murphy, in fact, noted the paramount importance of Lea Michele’s emotional state in the show’s deliberations about how to proceed in the wake of the tragic death.
