Randy Orton Denies WWE’s Official Injury Claims

While WWE.com was busy reporting on an apparent injury Randy Orton suffered at Tuesday’s SmackDown! taping, the Money In the Bank winner was busy telling fans not to believe what they read online.

Downplaying injury story, Orton wrote, “Hey, remember when I said don’t listen to the net? I’m fine. Del Rio’s kicks are hard as hell, and I caught one to the neck, part of the job.”

Aware that it was WWE.com–not a “dirtsheet”–that first reported the story, a fan naturally inquired about Orton’s Tweet, asking, “By “the net” do you mean WWE’s official company website?”

Despite the fact that his repudiation was in direct response to a story on WWE’s official website, Orton nonetheless clarified, “No I mean every other [wrestling website].”

Following Orton’s Tweet, WWE.com noted, “Though his official medical status is still undetermined, being the competitor that he is, Orton tweeted the WWE Universe to let them know that he’s fine.”
