When an inappropriate Tweet or photo emerges on a celebrity’s social media account, it is a near certainty that he or she will blame it on a “hacking.”
“The Newsroom” star Alison Pill is being applauded for taking a different tact–or, perhaps, for the topless pose she displayed in the web’s latest viral sensation.
Earlier this week, a topless photo of the actress emerged on Twitter, and to those who recognize Pill, there was little question about its legitimacy. The only question was whether she would own up to the “leak.”
She did, noting on Twitter, “Yep. That picture happened. Ugh. My tech issues have now reached new heights, apparently. How a deletion turned into a tweet… Apologies.”
Initial replies to Pill’s Tweet applauded her for the honesty–and for foregoing the claims of “hacking” that always accompany such photos.
