“The Finder” Bombs in the Ratings, “The Firm” Flops in Timeslot

America was clearly not clamoring for a “Bones” spin-off.

Leading out of an episode of FOX’s veteran procedural, which was a lukewarm performer in its own right (it delivered a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating and 8.6 million viewers), “The Finder” flopped in its premiere Thursday. FOX’s new series was good for just a 1.7 rating and 5.5 million viewers, which was enough for a mere fourth-place finish in the hour.

It also slightly lost viewers from start-to-finish, which is never a good sign for a series premiere.

Midseason premiere night was also rough on NBC’s new drama “The Firm,” which fell from its already-disastrous Sunday premiere numbers. Now in its regular Thursday at 10PM timeslot, the show could only deliver a 1.0 adults 18-49 rating and 4.2 million viewers and thus performed even worse in the demo than previous occupant “Prime Suspect.”

Its lead-in was “Up All Night,” which scored a 2.0 rating and 4.3 million in its timeslot premiere.
