Cynical members of the television community had been taking bets on how low ratings for the aging “Desperate Housewives” would drop in the coming years.
The number will not have too much time to sink, however, as ABC officially confirmed news that “Desperate Housewives” will end with its upcoming eighth season.
Once a ratings and creative juggernaut, “Housewives” has fallen from stardom at ABC. It still, however, does attract a sizable crowd and will be used to launch “Pan Am” this fall.
— FX officially ordered more “Louie,” “Wilfred” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” this week. “Louie”‘s renewal is for a third season, “Wilfred”‘s is for a second.
“Sunny,” meanwhile, inked a two-season order that will take it through nine. It returns for season seven in September.
